About

Nicoletta Wylde is a poet, spoken-word performer, author and critic living in London, UK.

Known for their mesmerising performance style, and their heady prose, they have become a favourite on the capital’s spoken word and Dark Cabaret scenes, and have performed at events across the UK, including the Brighton Fringe, the Edinburgh Fringe and Glasgow Horror Fest. They also co-founded the occult cabaret night, C O V E N.

Their first poetry collection, The Direction of Greater Courage, was published by Sweat Drenched Press in July 2021.

They have produced two spoken word albums, 2016’s Dichotomy and 2018’s Maneki Nico, both available on all streaming platforms, as well as on CD from the store. In 2019 they wrote and performed their first one-person show, Nicoletta Wylde Is Afraid of the Dark, winning four-star reviews, and Artificial Womb zine praising it for its “urgency and authenticity” and “deep sense of eldritch terror” during its run at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Wylde lives in East London with their beloved cat Princess. They wrote their first fiction at the age of six, was writing full novels by the time they were sixteen, and never looked back. They write regularly about film and music for numerous sites including HeyUGuys, Music OMH and Drowned In Sound, and – pandemic aside – still perform their poetry and prose on the London circuit.
